AWARDS & PRESENTATIONS

On Wednesday 17th January 2024 Rochdale Heartbeat presented the staff on the coronary care unit with items for staff training.
These were jointly funded by the staff from  the Royal Toby hotel.
The items consisted of a heart model with conducting system, A coronary bypass model, a model of the arteries and a heart rhythm simulator.
The models can also be used to help the patients understand their diagnosis

On Wednesday 2nd June 2021 Rochdale Heartbeat volunteers were  honoured to be informed that they would receive the Queens Award for Voluntary Service 2021
This is such a great honour and everyone involved in Rochdale Heartbeat is really excited and pleased and looking forward to the presentation



Derek White (Heartbeat member)receiving a cheque for £210 from Heaton Parkrun on Saturday 25th January by   Duncan Shuttleworth  from the organising committee.
The money comes from the profits from the sale of their calendars and was donated to 4 local charities.
Well done to all who purchased their calendars  


On Sunday 28th July 2019 Heartbeat members presented a defibrilator to Kirkholt Community Church.
The defibrilator was accepted by Neil Brennan on behalf of the church. 

On the 14th July 2019, Rochdale Heartbeat  members Margaret Mather (Chairperson) and Pam Wiseman (Treasurer) presented a defibrilator to St Herbert's Church, Broadway, Chadderton. Father Casper is pictured receiving the defibrilator on behalf of the church


On Sunday 30th June 2019 Heartbeat members , Sue Ridgard (Secretary) and Pam Wiseman (Treasurer) presented a defibrilator to Christ Church at Healey
The Reverend Gill Barnet accepted the defibrilator on behalf of the church. the presentation was also attended by the church warden Ruth Hughes

On the 6th October 2018, Rochdale heartbeat presented Dr Sabolewski (Consultant Cardologist) at the cardio respiratory unit at Royal Oldham hospital with a Vscan machine. this is the second Vscan machine that Rochdale Heartbeat has purchased and donated to a hospital. The first one being presented to Dr Irwin, Consultant Cardiologist at the cardio respiratory unit at Fairfield hospital which was purchased with the aid of a grant received from the Masons

On Thursday 12th April 2018 Heartbeat members , Sue Ridgard (Secretary) Margaret Pickersgill and Pam Wiseman (Treasurer) presented a defibrilator to Allan Rodgerson (Secretary) of Kirkholt bowling club.

On the 24th March 2018 Bryan Schofield (Chairman) and several Heartbeat members presented a defibrillator to Milnrow Bowling Club. The heartbeat members were made very welcome and enjoyed a lovely buffet after the presentation.

At the Annual Christmas Dinner November 2017 held at the Rhyddings Suite, Royal Toby hosted by Rochdale Heartbeat, a cheque for £4000.00 was presented by the Freemasons to Rochdale Heartbeat to help purchase a hand held scanner for the Cardio Respiratory Unit at Fairfield Hospital.

Following the receipt of the cheque from the Mason's, Rochdale Heartbeat then presented a cheque to Dr. Irwin for £4995.00 to purchase a hand held scanner for the Cardio Respiratory Unit at Fairfield Hospital. This will improve the diagnosis of heart problems

What a fabulous night on Saturday 23rd September 2017 at the Coach House organised by Margaret and her friends from Littleborough. They worked extremely hard. A big thank you to them The band were absolutely great and everyone enjoyed themselves. Over £700 was raised for Rochdale Heartbeat.

In 2014 Rochdale Heartbeat were presented with a Gold Award for their efforts in purchasing 10 defibrillators and presenting them to local sports venues this was following the collapse of footballer Fabrice Moamba. Two years later we purchased another 10 defibrillators which were distributed to local schools and churches.

We are now in the process of distributing another 10 defibrillators to local sports venues and churches and also arranging training for them.

In 2002 our first Secretary, Mr Jim Marshall was awarded an MBE by the Queen , following a lifetime of magnificent work for Rochdale Heartbeat and the heart patients of Rochdale. Jim was a founder member of Rochdale Heartbeat and a fantastic member of the community.

In 2010 Sue Ridgard, current Secretary of Rochdale Heartbeat was voted Woman of Rochdale. This was followed by an invitation to a garden party at Buckingham Palace
